Michelle Strange, RDH
Charleston, South Carolina

As a student: A May 2005 graduate of Trident Technical College. Michelle worked as an assistant for an orthodontists office while in high school as well as after graduation, and "loved every moment of it. I decided to continue my education as a dental hygienist."

On a daily basis: She teacehs at Trident, and practices at Bjornson Periodontics. "I love speaking with my patients about every topic under the sun, yet still taking the time to educate and teach them. I love the science portion of dental hygiene. Anatomy and the oral systemic link are very intriguing to me. I love teaching both my patients and student hygienists. Really, I cannot get enough of my career. Not every day is a good day but at the end of the day, I love what I do!"

About her: She has a seven-year-old pit bull named Lola who is "my side kick in life." In her spare time, she enjoys the events and festivals Charleston offers. "I have grown up on the beach and on the water and I couldn't live anywhere else." Michelle is very involved in her comunity and church. "I just returned from Nicaragua in August and from Uganda in December 2013. It doesn't make sense until you have done mission work, bbut it cannot be more true when people say, "You get back more than you give." My goal each year is to mission work in a different country and then explore that country.
