    Forward Science Technologies recently launched CytID, a liquid-based cytology method for sampling tissue highlighted by OralID. CytID is a cytology product targeting oral cancer screening that can also facilitate HPV testing of suspicious samples. Collecting a cytology sample with CytID is less painful for the patient. The company also manufacturers OralID, a fluorescence-based screening device that highlights oral mucosal abnormalities including cancerous and dysplastic lesions.

This innovative tool allows dentists to complete a thorough exam without alarming very young or special care patients who might be frightened by the usual mirror or explorer. The Toothbrush Explorer was designed and patented by a pediatric dentist for those with special care needs including young, autistic, Downs syndrome, cerebral palsy, and geriatric patients.

    Hu-Friedy     recently announced its high definition (HD) diagnostic mirrors. HD mirrors provide an enhanced view of the intraoral cavity. Featuring a proprietary coating, Hu-Friedy's HD mirrors have a 113% reflection factor and are 38.5% brighter than standard rhodium-coated dental mirrors. The HD mirrors are also scratch-resistant.
