Jack B. Nimble Scaler

Don't let the whimsical name of this new scaler by Paradise Dental Technologies fool you! The Jack B. Nimble is a real workhorse designed specifically to allow positive lateral pressure in the anterior and pre-molar regions.

The continuous curved blade and contra-angle design keep optimal blade surface in contact with the tooth, making it the ideal scaler for pedodontic, orthodontic, crowded, rotated, and lingual version teeth. Like all PDT scalers, the Jack B. Nimble is lightweight, well balanced and sharp.

'Healthy Teeth, Healthy Me'

I love it when one of our own writes a book or invents a product that I can feature in my column. This month, I'd like to introduce you to Kathleen Squire and her book, "Healthy Teeth, Healthy Me." Kathleen is a practicing dental hygienist in New York, who has a passion for helping people of all ages adopt healthy habits to ensure a healthy lifetime.

Kathleen told me she began this book as a project for National Children's Dental Health Month. She and her son Ryan worked on it together and what started out as a lesson plan grew into this appealing book that has helped his classmates
and their parents better understand the importance of oral health.

What impressed me most about "Healthy Teeth, Healthy Me" is the way Kathleen stresses that it's "not only how you take care of your mouth but what you put in it that effects your health as well." Much of her book is devoted to healthy food choices and good nutrition. Sound advice we can all use.

This book is a great tool for those of us charged with educating the younger population, ages 9 through 12. I can easily see how asking parents to read this with their kids would benefit everyone concerned.

Kathleen's book is available from Trafford Publishing at www.trafford.com. You can also order this title at your local bookseller or preferred on-line retailer with the following reference numbers: 978-1-4669-9093-7 (SC ISBN) and 978-1-4669-9092-0 (EBook ISBN).

Introducing Amazing by Aurelia

Very thin (2 mils), the Amazing nitrile gloves by Aurelia are thinner, lighter, and more flexible than other standard nitrile gloves. According to the manufacturer, Amazing gloves are more comfortable and deliver high tactile sensitivity as they conform to the clinician's hands while maintaining the strength and protection you expect in a glove. The textured surface on the fingers adds precision and strong gripping capabilities.

In addition, Aurelia Gloves' new Zero-Touch technology means 100% machined packed gloves, providing wrinkle-free gloves and hassle-free dispensing. Zero-Touch also eliminates human contact to prevent possible cross contamination. Amazing gloves are packed 300 per box, rather than the standard 100 per box for convenience and a smaller environmental impact. Check them out today at www.aureliagloves.com.

As always, email me at [email protected] with your comments and names of products you would like to see reviewed in the column.
