University of Florida; psychology

No
Why did you become a dentist?
Because I loved health care and science, and I believed it would be a better fit with having a family than being a physician
How did you begin your dental career?
As an associate in a practice in Gainesville, Fla.
Do you own or lease your office?
Neither
How many active patients?
I have a small practice of 30 patients in addition to teaching full time.
How are you involved in leadership and community?
I am currently on the board of the AAWD, past president of my local Pankey-affiliated learning group, and I teach dentists across the nation.
What is your most prized accomplishment?
That is difficult to answer because there are many events in different areas of my life that I consider prized accomplishments.
What are your goals?
To be the best I can be at all the things I do, and to accept that as enough!
Do you have any advice for women who want to pursue dentistry?
Do it! Dentistry is an incredible profession because it has many unique aspects that allow women to flourish.

Yes
For how long, and how did you become involved with AAWD?
Three years, to support leadership for women in dentistry
Are you especially fond of certain dental equipment?
No
If you were a dental instrument, what kind would you be and why?
I'd be a Thomas waxer, because it's the creative instrument.
What do you do for fun?
Spend time with my kids, read, walk, and scuba dive
