Earlier this month, RDH Under One Roof concluded its annual conference in Chicago. What better way to get everyone's mind on next year than to have a resident of Las Vegas on the cover ("UOR" is scheduled for July 29-31, 2009, at the Rio Hotel and Casino).
Jerin Waters, RDH, is one of our MySpace pals. Her migration through several states leading up to current residence in Nevada (she also holds licenses in South Carolina and North Carolina) while dealing with the hardships of a military marriage (Air Force) caught our eye. While working at the dental office of Dr. James Polley in Las Vegas, she is completing her bachelor's degree online through the Medical University of South Carolina.
"Eventually, I want to use my degree and experience to become a dental consultant," she says. "My ultimate aspiration is to use my experiences in different offices across the country to help dentists reach their professional goals.
"I have most enjoyed providing periodontal care. While I work in a general, fee-for-service practice, the number of patients requiring scaling and root planing is alarming. While the piezo-electric scaler really helps me to be more efficient in root planing procedures, my favorite instrument and right-hand man is Montana Jack."
Jerin enjoys traveling with her husband, Richard, and her MySpace friends claim she is "borderline obsessed" with the musical talents of the Dave Matthews Band and John Mayer.
