BIOMET 3i recognized for its injury and illness prevention program

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Florida--BIOMET 3i has been awarded the USF Safety Award by the University of South Florida for its effort in implementing and maintaining an effective injury and illness prevention program.

The USF Safety Florida Consultation Program designed the Sunshine State Safety Recognition Award to recognize employers who demonstrate effective safety and health management systems and proactively work with their employees to improve their work practices.

"The USF Sunshine State Safety Award is a very important honor as it is given in recognition to those in our organization who instill a safe work environment for everyone at Biomet 3i" said Mark Berg, vice president of manufacturing for BIOMET 3i.

Approximately 40 of an estimated 80,000 companies in the state receive the Sunshine State Safety Recognition Award annually.

USF SafetyFlorida visits applicants and determines whether or not managers and employees of the company demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement of the company's workplace safety and health management systems.

For more information, call (800) 443-8166 or (561) 776-6700, or visit the company's Web site at Biomet 3i.
