Gloves are a critical component of personal protective equipment (PPE), providing a primary barrier against cross-contamination and ensuring compliance with infection control protocols. This webinar examines the material science behind glove manufacturing, comparing the mechanical properties various glove materials in terms of tensile strength, elasticity, and barrier integrity. Attendees will evaluate evidence-based strategies for mitigating hypersensitivity reactions, including Type I and Type IV allergies, to promote a safe clinical environment for both patients and practitioners. The session will also analyze the ergonomic implications of glove fit, thickness, and design, with a focus on reducing musculoskeletal strain and preventing repetitive stress injuries.
