As a dental hygienist, I’ve learned that one conversation can change someone’s confidence, career, and even the way they care for patients. This month, our conversations with Dr. Glenn Canares, Jasmin Haley, and Marion Manski made me ask: Can we challenge people without breaking them? We explored psychological safety, burnout, self-care, meaningful feedback, and the powerful difference between being nice and being kind. My biggest takeaway? High standards and compassion don’t have to compete. They can actually make each other stronger.
Now we want to hear from you! When does pushing someone to grow become pushing them too far? Have you experienced a moment when kindness or the lack of it changed your learning, teaching, or career? Email us and tell us your story. Your question or experience could become part of our next conversation. And don’t miss our upcoming episodes of A Tale of Two Hygienists. We’re just getting started!
