I am so pleased to announce that, effective with the September issue, Jackie Sanders, MBA, RDH, is the chief editor of RDH magazine.

I am so pleased to announce that, effective with the September issue, Jackie Sanders, MBA, RDH, is the chief editor of RDH magazine.

Jackie Sanders has been a familiar face in the profession for many years. Until accepting this position, she was Sunstar’s manager of professional relations and communications and a widely known opinion leader. Before she joined Sunstar in 2008, she practiced clinically for 13 years. She’s consulted with dental manufacturers, held an adjunct faculty position, and served on the Legislative Advisory Council for the American Dental Education Association, the American Dental Hygienists’ Association Institute for Oral Health Advisory Committee, and several corporate councils and editorial boards. Now, she will bring this experience and perspective to one of the most respected publications in dental hygiene.

As a team, we have already had many exciting discussions about how we can continue to publish the kind of content that has earned us your trust and readership over the decades, and at the same time, how we can continue to grow, change, and incorporate new ideas. We’re talking about how RDH can continue to serve the profession of dental hygiene and help it meet the challenges ahead.

Commenting on her new role, Sanders says, “Dentistry is changing, and the role of the dental hygienist is evolving into a multifaceted profession. I am honored to have the opportunity to work with Endeavor Business Media and the RDH team to provide content that will reach all facets of dental hygiene and assist with the progress of professional development.” She adds, “It’s important to be happy, be a positive influence, and make a difference. Get ready!”

You’ll hear more from Jackie in the next issue. In the meantime, it’s fitting that this issue features the 2019 RDH/Sunstar Award of Distinction, an award she led for several years to recognize hygienists who are a driving force of change in the profession and in their communities. Our team hopes you enjoy reading about these special hygienists, and we can’t wait to share with you what’s to come.
