Parkell Products recently announced that Pain-Free desensitizer has been awarded a U.S. patent (#5766328).

- When rubbed onto sensitive dentin by the dentist or hygienist using a cotton pledget, the product cross-links to form a tri-polymer shield that chemically bonds to the calcium in the tooth and blocks the tubules.

- According to Parkell, the material is extremely easy to use and effective in approximately 70 percent of the cases. (If the patient fails to respond, it generally is because the sensitive surface is not accessible for treatment ... or because the sensitivity is not due to patent tubules.)
