Block Drug Co. introduces PerioGlas for the treatment of infrabony defects caused by periodontal disease. The bioactive ceramic material is available to dental professionals as a result of an agreement between Block Drug and U.S. Biomaterials Corp.

- PerioGlas bonds to both bone and soft tissue, regenerates bone rapidly, adapts to the defect, initiates a chemical bond that inhibits epithelial downgrowth, and effectively repairs and restores the periodontium.

- When mixed with a few drops of sterile water, the material becomes ready to use within seconds.

- The biocompatible PerioGlas will not float out of the defect site and is inaffected by adjacent suctioning.
