Step into the 1990s

Dear RDH,

Dr. Burton Press, former president of the American Dental Association, needs to be catapulted into the 1990s (RDH, July 1995, p. 12).

I found his quote in the July issue ridiculous, out of touch and quite frankly, frightening. I am fortunate to have many long-term patients who consider me their friend and confidant. I believe that to be the result of the understanding and caring treatment they have received from me. Dental hygiene students do not spend their time studying and perfecting their clinical skills to become loveable in the field of dental hygiene.
