New management
2 In the summer of 1995, the magazine’s original publisher (Stevens Publishing in Texas) sold RDH to PennWell Publishing. The publisher at the time, Marc Scheiner, wrote a letter to readers about the transaction for the September 1995 issue, and the first issue produced solely by PennWell was the November 1995 issue.

3 The editor’s personal hygienist appeared on three covers during the mid-1990s.
A little self-respect
4One of the more prolific feature writers in recent years has been Patti DiGangi. Her first article, which addressed developing self-respect, appeared in the April 1995 issue.
Pseudonyms
5 The magazine typically does not allow authors to use “pen names.” Frances Wolfe is one of the exceptions. She is one of the few authors who has published articles in RDH during all three decades - 1980s, 1990s, and the current decade. But in the 1980s, she used her real name.
My opinion
6 Heidi Emmerling, a Nevada dental hygienist, began writing a “commentary” called Perspective during 1996. Her columns were published until 1998.
