As I write this, I'm running around preparing for a new semester of dental hygiene students. My syllabi are being finalized, clinic spaces are coming together, and I wish lesson plans were getting their finishing touches but I usually get my best ideas at the last minute. It's a busy season, but it's also one of my favorites.
Every fall brings a new opportunity to inspire the next generation of dental hygienists. My hope is that students leave with more than clinical skills. I want them to discover the same passion, purpose, and love for this profession that has shaped my own career.
