It’s official! The Cellerant Best of Class Hygiene Awards program is proud to announce the 2021 brand winners! These are the best of the best—the products, services, and technologies that EVERY dental hygienist should have in their toolkit. Since this is the inaugural year for the award, pay special attention to the following list of winners as they are the crème de la crème, the tried and true, and the most dependable tools dental hygiene departments can utilize to build successful programs.
As Chief Hygiene Officer at Cellerant Consulting, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside Dr. Lou Shuman, CEO and founder and creator of the Cellerant Best of Class Awards, to help launch the program and build the fantastic team that guides the rigorous transparent nonprofit unbiased selection process. This selection panel consists of nine dental hygienists who are renowned thought leaders and educators who, over the course of each year, seek out and conduct research on potentially practice-changing technologies.
For the selection panel, the process culminates in one final passionate discussion to decide the winners. Lasting more than seven hours, this year’s discussion was especially meaningful as we deliberated products that have been with us since the beginning of dental hygiene and others that have recently emerged due to the pandemic. From the impossible task of debating our favorite scalers and home-care products to insightful discourse on innovative technologies not yet on the market, this discussion—and the results of it—are significant to the future of the dental hygiene industry.
