Toothbrush encourages recycling efforts

At replacement rates of only two times per year, it is estimated that toothbrushes account for 50 million pounds of plastic waste annually in the United States. By using recycled plastics in the Preserve® toothbrush and by making it entirely recyclable, Recycline, Inc. seeks to reduce the reliance on our natural resources and our country`s landfills.

The ADA, along with dentists nationwide, recommend that patients replace their toothbrushes at least four times a year. Not only do they lose their effectiveness, but they also build up bacteria.

Recycline invites consumers to join the recycling circle by sending used toothbrushes back to Recycline to be ground and reprocessed into a source material for plastic lumber. A postage-paid, return recycling mailer, is included with each toothbrush.

The Preserve® is available in six colors: forest green, wildberry red, royal blue, grape, lemon yellow, and periwinkle; as well as three textures: soft, medium, and firm.
