About the cover

While many people are thrilled just to spend a vacation in the Florida panhandle, this month`s cover model has spent a lifetime walking barefoot on the white, sandy beaches.

Kim Poon grew up in Fort Walton Beach, now lives in Santa Rosa Beach, and works in Destin - a geographical area comprising approximately 30 miles of Florida`s most beautiful beaches. Poon and her husband, William, like to walk on the beach and ride bikes there, as well as play tennis in a nearby resort.

Poon is a 1998 graduate of Pensacola Junior College and currently practices three days a week. She is president of the Emerald Coast Dental Hygiene Association and serves on the Council on Public Affairs for the Florida Dental Hygienists` Association.

Before becoming a hygienist, Poon was a certified dental assistant.
