Keynote speaker — We should warn you. The final RDH Under One Roof seminar on Aug. 7 is commonly referred to as the “wrap-up” seminar. Depending on how busy you were during the preceding 2½ days, you may be feeling, uh, a little tired. If so, Linda Talley will identify your state of mind, even if you’re in the back row. During the UOR wrap-up session, which is titled, “Non-Verbal Etiquette for the Hygienist,” attendees will quickly sense Talley’s expertise in reading body language. “If you really want to know what’s going on in your dental practice today, you must read body language — not only your patient’s body language but also your own. It says so much about you!” says Talley. Her presentation will help attendees “level the gender playing field” through nonverbal communication; learn techniques about body language positions that leaders use; change precognitive assumptions in dealing with staff and patients; and eliminate “victim” tactics that can lead to manipulation and anger. For more information about other general session speakers at RDH Under One Roof, visit www.rdhunderoneroof.com.Tip of the month — Attendees to RDH Under One Roof receive discounted rates for tickets to the theme parks. For example, someone playing “hookey” from the conference (or just arriving early the day before) can purchase a “convention afternoon ticket” for $61 after 2 p.m or $48 after 4 p.m. In addition, UOR attendees receive a 10% discount off regular ticket prices for the Disney parks before or after the conference, ranging from $149.54 for a two-day base ticket to $219 for a five-day base ticket. The tickets must be purchased at the related link at www.rdhunderoneroof.com.

The spa — The Mandara Spa at the Dolphin Resort is arguably the most esthetically pleasing spa found at any of the RDH Under One Roof host hotels. The spa sprawls over 10,000 square feet and features 12 treatment rooms, two rooms for couples, locker rooms, a steam room, and a private sundeck. The full-service spa offers massages, facials, eyelash extensions, hair extensions, manicures, pedicures, hair styling, bosy scrubs and wraps, and microdermabrasions. Conference attendees receive $25 off of any treatment over $100, as well as 20% off on all spa products.
