The John O. Butler Company announces that for the next five years it will sponsor an annual program to celebrate National Children`s Dental Health Month at the Dr. Samuel D. Harris National Museum of Dentistry in Baltimore.
During February, Butler will promote activities at the museum by reaching out to children and their families in the Baltimore area. The program will officially be launched Feb. 6, with day-long activities and programs for children.
In 1999, in addition to a $10,000 donation, Butler will generate funds for the museum in various ways. To honor each dental professional who spends $1,500 or more with Butler during February, Butler will purchase an engraved brick for $100 to be placed in the Sullivan-Schein Courtyard at the museum`s entrance.
The Dr. Samuel D. Harris National Museum of Dentistry, located on the campus of the University of Maryland Baltimore, is the site of six professional schools, including the world`s first dental college. The museum building, erected in 1904 and noted for its architectural beauty, was the home of the dental school for 25 years.
