Compassionate dentist

Aug. 1, 1996
In reference to the articles on occupational injuries (March, May 1996 RDH), I am very disappointed that there are so many dentists who would put anyone`s health at risk - patient or employee - just to keep from making an incident report or the expense of testing.

Dear RDH:

In reference to the articles on occupational injuries (March, May 1996 RDH), I am very disappointed that there are so many dentists who would put anyone`s health at risk - patient or employee - just to keep from making an incident report or the expense of testing.

I am fortunate enough to work for a compassionate dentist who always makes his patients` and staff`s health a priority. I had an unfortunate needle stick. The needle came out the side of the cap when it was removed.

I informed the doctor of the incident. He advised me to call a physican and do all necessary testing and to document all necessary information needed in our OSHA manual. Now this is an example of the quality of dentist that should be out there.
