Dear RDH:

I am writing regarding your Editor?s Note in the January 1997 issue. I found your reference to Islamic terrorists quite disturbing. With the delicate peace process in the Mideast not progressing, what we do not need is negative references to this area in professional publications. Why state Islamic as opposed to any other terrorists - even American? There are other terrorists in addition to Islamic. I fail to see the connection of terrorism with dental hygiene. RDH should not be the avenue for your personal and/or political agenda unless it is to further the profession of dental hygiene. With regard to your last sentence in the second paragraph, I would hope that RDH does not give my personal information to anyone or any group for free or for a price.

RDH has some very informative articles and on many occasions, I have heard other dental hygienists speak highly of the contents of this publication. But I feel you definitely made an OoopsO with this editorial.
