Procter & Gamble releases Crest® Whitestrips, an over-the-counter whitening system that gets at stains on and below the surface of the teeth.

The clear, flexible strips are worn by patients twice a day for 30 minutes to attain whiter teeth in just two weeks. The strips deliver a controlled dose of hydrogen peroxide whitening gel and adhere directly to the "smile teeth" — those visible when smiling.

Crest® Whitestrips will be available through professionals only for three months, and for an additional six months there will be only limited availability for consumers via the Internet and an 800 number.

The Crest® Whitestrips system includes a two-week supply of strips for lower and upper teeth.
