Moving from private practice to a DSO was different, but easier than Dominic Castro expected. He enjoys many aspects of what the DSO offers its employees.
Dominic Castro “loves everything” about working for a DSO. He values the benefits because some were lacking when he was in private practice. The supportive and teaching atmosphere is also to his liking, as is the continuing education that’s offered.
For the CE, all the hygienists in the practice attend together so everyone is on the same page. Those in charge at the DSO listen to their team members and often take their suggestions into practice. Dominic likes the way appointments are handled when compared to the practice where he used to work.
The private-practice-to-DSO transition was definitely different for Dominic. But he’s been pleasantly surprised and encourages his peers not to rule out the possibility of working in a DSO.
