Parkell recently introduced "the Eraser" air-prophy pencil for removal of surface stains. The device reportedly employs a pressurized slurry of sodium bicarbonate to power off plaque and discoloration.

- The small, hand-held device (approximately 4 oz.) sits in a conventional handpiece hanger and operates off a standard air/water connection. According to the manufacturer, the Eraser is entirely self-contained without a bulky control box, so nothing occupies space on the counter or bracket table.

- For maximum operator comfort, the handpiece features a removable sheath that allows the operator to select either a narrow-diameter grip (like a pencil) or a wider diameter (like the handpiece of an ultrasonic scaler).

- To place an order or for more details, contact Parkell, 155 Schmitt Blvd., Farmingdale, NY 11735; or call (800) 243-7446.
