Britanny Cox’s personal experience with burnout, which she discusses here, led her to come up with a new program for all hygienists: RDH RISE. She introduced the idea to me, and I’m all in.
The goal of RDH RISE is to empower dental hygienists across all aspects of their career, from new grads to current professionals, those who want to become leaders in the profession, on to the legacy pros who want to provide insights and mentorship.
Since Brittany did not have much support as a new grad, she wants this program to help new grads find the support they need starting out. She hopes RISE will help current pros reignite their passion for the profession and prevent burnout.
She and I agree we all need to advocate for the profession as a whole. But how to do that? RISE will provide guidance on how to support dental hygiene in a multitude of ways.
The program is still in the development stages, and we plan to reach out to the RDH magazine advisory board members to help get it started. We’ll also weave the ideas into RDH Under One Roof this July in Dallas.
We certainly welcome feedback from all of you about this new program and what you would like to see it become.
