We'll miss you Machele!

Editor's Note: It's a wrap ...

Dec. 2, 2019
It’s a wrap…” We all know the phrase. In Hollywood, it’s used when the camera’s done rolling at the end of the day. In other places, it’s used to declare something’s concluded or finished.

It’s a wrap…” We all know the phrase. In Hollywood, it’s used when the camera’s done rolling at the end of the day. In other places, it’s used to declare something’s concluded or finished. Or in still other places, it can be used to announce, “I’m wrapping up here and going onto the next phase of my life.”

I was recently sitting in our Tulsa, Oklahoma, office with my colleagues in the dental group. We were reflecting on the year and embracing the excitement in the air. We had been coordinating the strategies and timelines for all our new programs in 2020. But personally, I was a bit sad. I knew that a long-time friend at RDH was saying, “It’s a wrap.”

Many of you know her as the face of RDH. Or the person whose laugh could instantly brighten your day. Or the woman whose sense of humor had you grabbing your sides to catch an extra breath. Many of you have known her as the person who ensured that your business was taken care of. Or that your questions were answered. Or that you could turn to her when it was time to brainstorm a successful marketing strategy.

As for me … how did I know her? She was one of my greatest companions and mentors. In fact, she still is. She is the one and only Machele Galloway.

Machele has done so much to support my career development. I know that her new path will shine and she will have the opportunity to coach and direct so many others. We at Endeavor Business Media and RDH support her one hundred percent, and we will miss her laugh and work ethic every day.

As we wrap up the year, we are pleased to provide you with the best salary survey ever conducted for dental hygienists. It’s all thanks to an exciting new partnership we began earlier this year with DentalPost. The results are exciting and will provide us with a blueprint of where we are … and what we can do to continue taking the dental hygiene profession to the next level. As we pull together and strengthen our message, we become powerful. We carry a voice that many need to hear. We are a large player in the solution to access to care!

Here at RDH, a new advisory board has been selected, and valuable suggestions are already being provided from this group of talented hygienists. We wrap up the year appreciative of all the challenges we have shared and how much we’ve grown. We’re looking forward to a new magazine layout in 2020 and new educational features to help you. As RDH continues to rise to the next level, we are making sure to provide you with articles that will assist with your career development. What information will provide you with the key to become the best RDH you can be?

Take time to reflect by wrapping up the year and preparing for a 2020 that is going to be amazing!

Happy Holidays,

Jackie L. Sanders, MBA, RDH
