RDH Community Connection (RCC) program expanding

Oct. 21, 2021
RDH is happy to welcome four new members to the RCC program, which encourages those who share the good news about our profession on social media.

RDH Community Connections (RCC) is a program designed to identify and connect with dental hygienists who have created a group of their own followers on the primary social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn). There are currently 16 members in the RCC program, and all have been spotlighted in RDH magazine where they shared their platforms and passions. In addition, they were recently recognized at RDH Under One Roof for their contributions to the profession.

As social media continues to be a major source of communication in the dental hygiene realm, more professionals are building programs to promote a positive shift and spread their messages. Patterson Dental is the proud sponsor of this program, and together with RDH we recognized the opportunity to expand the program, select new members, and broaden the RCC reach.

We recently called for nominations and are excited to share the names of the newest additions to the RCC program.

The four new members are:

  • Dental Hygiene Spark, with Amber Lovatos, BSDH, RDH, MAADH, An Chih (Angela) Do, MEd, RDH, MAADH, and Shawna Greer, RDH. Their mission is to empower RDHs who are in a rut or just need a change to reignite their dental hygiene spark. Follow them on Instagram @dentalhygienespark
  • Danny Diaz, RDH, studied at Rutgers School of Health Professions and graduated in 2018. Follow him on Instagram @doyouprophy
  • Brittany Glauz, RDH, studied at Southwestern College and graduated in 2020. Follow her on Instagram @brushwithbritt
  • Amanda Zubricki, BS, RDH, started a nonprofit called That Deaf RDH. She envisions every deaf or hard-of-hearing person having the financial and community support they need to achieve their goal of becoming a dental hygienist. Follow her on Instagram @thatdeafrdh.nonprofit

During the next four months, each of these new members will be featured in RDH magazine in an article about their passion and drive. If you are interested or would like to nominate a fellow RDH for RCC, please contact Aileen Southerland at [email protected].
