Laura Giusti enrolled in dental hygiene school when her children started attending the local elementary school. It was a career choice that fit her lifestyle.
“While in hygiene school, I stayed very active in my children’s lives — always an active member of the PTA, class mother, team mom for baseball and soccer,” she said.
She is a hygienist on the staff at Dr. Holly Burns’ office in Huntington Village. “When I found dental hygiene, I found my passion. There is not a day that I regret my decision. I enjoy going to work every day. Dr. Burns is amazing and treats me with respect and value. She hired me upon graduation, and I feel blessed to be a part of her team.
“We are like a caring family. We may not always stay on time, but our patients are always treated with respect and kindness; no one is ever rushed out the door.”
Giusti obtained her certification in anesthesia and nitrous oxide administration in 2006. “Dr. Burns encouraged me to pursue my anesthesia certificate and she was my first patient.”
She recently participated in the inaugural Colgate Oral Health Advisory Board in New York City.
She enjoys traveling during her time off. “My most memorable trip was to Italy. Venice was my favorite, but I love Tuscany, Rome, and Verona. We found the people so warm, and, of course, the rich culture and amazing food were memorable!”
