Giving to charity is at the heart of what we do. That’s why Benco Dental makes a point to donate 5% of its profits to charity each year. Over the years, Benco has been a devoted supporter of many charities, including:
- the Dental Trade Alliance Foundation
- the National Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped
- Operation Smile (see below)
- various dental schools and dental charities.
Benco is a longstanding member of the DTA and supporter of its Foundation, which awards grants to research and initiatives that advance the practice of dentistry, improve access to oral healthcare, and grow the dental marketplace.
Providing care to the disabled and others in need is high on Benco’s list of priorities. It has led us to aid the NFDH through the DentaCheques program. Through DentaCheques, Benco lowers customers’ bills when they make donations to the NFDH.
We are also strong supporters of the United Way, and have set up a matching gifts program in which donations from associates are matched by the company. Through the United Way, Benco and its associates support local organizations that provide important services in the communities we serve. The Cohen family, which founded Benco Dental, has established a foundation to act as a vehicle to donate to various charities.
Our goal is not just to give our funds, but to get our associates and customers involved in supporting charitable organizations that do good work. In Benco’s BluChip Rewards program, associates, partners, and customers earn BluChips when they buy select products from Benco. With those BluChips, they can reward themselves with a variety of gifts. But they can also use the BluChips to make a financial donation through Operation Smile or the Giftback Card.
Operation Smile is a not–for–profit volunteer medical services organization providing reconstructive surgery to tens of thousands of children in 20 developing countries and the U.S. The organization provides free surgery, as well as education and free training for local healthcare professionals.
The Giftback Card is a charity gift card that connects individuals with nonprofit organizations throughout the world. Giftback Card recipients can choose to donate to any of more than 1.4 million charities.
