Dental hygiene students are the future of our profession, and the 2022 professionals are graduating with a wealth of knowledge and current research.

The new RDH Student Research Poster Awards, sponsored by Paradise Dental Technologies (PDT), provide an opportunity to acknowledge the contributions of senior dental hygiene students and their presentations of current research projects. The students are recognized in two categories: original research and informational.

First place recipients in each category will attend RDH Under One Roof in Orlando and present their results on the exhibit floor on Friday July 22, from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Exhibit Booth 735.

This week's featured winners, Paige Christensen, RDH; Hee Yeon Kim, RDH; and Kristin Yates, RDH, from the University of Maryland Baltimore, took 2nd place for original research. Their submission is called “Assessing Postpartum Oral Health Literacy and Needs as Medicaid Dental Coverage Expands.”

Check out the 1st-place-winning original research submission, "Assessing Fixed Dental Prostheses’ (FDPs) Impact on Diet and Mastication," and watch upcoming winners in future issues of eVillage.
