Coltène/Whaledent Inc. has added four new dental-dam clamps (#1, #4, #12A and #13A) to its line of Hygenic clamps.
- The #1, a general-purpose, upper-bi-cuspid clamp, adapts to the gingival curvature of the maxillary teeth.
- The #4 is indicated for small maxillary molars and is suitable for teeth which have a rounded anatomy. Although recommended for all upper small molars, the #4 is particularly useful for clamping erupted third molars.
- The #12A for lower right and #13A for lower left are a paired set featuring serrated jaws (Tiger clamps) for use on mandibular molars. The serrated jaws make these clamps superior for dam retention for cases with partially erupted or structurally compromised teeth. They are available in winged-clamp version only.
