What products are in dental floss? Tracee Dahm was in the UOR exhibit hall this summer when a company asked if she had tried their dental floss. They told her theirs is covered in beeswax, not Teflon (PFAs). This got Tracee’s attention, who, like many of her fellow hygienists, did not know that floss is covered in PFAs.

She began researching and found plenty of information about the ingredients in dental floss. It’s one of those things people don’t really talk about, so it’s nice to see some companies are paying attention and making changes.

Like many chemicals, PFAs can stay in the body and build up over time. Check out Tracee’s article on the topic, listen to everything we discuss here, and find out what other topics Tracee has taken a deep dive into.
