Parkell recently announced publication of the Winter 2000 edition of Perio Hygiene Today - a technical magazine written specifically for hygienists and general practitioners interested in conservative periodontal therapy.
This second issue in the series features an article by guest author, Dr. Larry Burnett, reviewing the ambiguous role of bleeding scores in the diagnosis of periodontal disease. It proposes a simple system for distinguishing between pathological and nonpathological bleeding.
Another article discusses subgingival ultrasonic debridement and survey research comparing its effectiveness with that of hand-scaling.
Though the publication also includes a description of Parkell`s line of ultrasonic scalers, tooth polishers, inserts, etc., the technical articles are entirely nonpromotional.
