Hu-Friedy’s double-sided mirror

Hu-Friedy recently announced a double-sided mirror that offers an alternative to mirrors that are thick, bulky, and heavy, often with a split stem that can collect debris. Hu-Friedy’s new double-sided mirrors are lighter, thinner, easier to insert, and are weld-free with no crevices. In addition, the new mirror is rhodium-coated to resist scratching, features soft, rounded edges for increased patient comfort, and is double-sided for indirect vision and illumination. The product is sold in packs of three or six to reduce the level of landfill waste produced by single packs.


Digital SoftX features adjustable loops

Digital SoftX Foam Sensor Loops feature an adjustable loop design, which provides for easy application and removal. SoftX foam loops cinch tightly for accurate, comfortable digital image; then open easily to eliminate pushing and pulling on delicate digital sensor wiring. SoftX Digital Sensor Loops are available in two sizes. Size 2 fits all size 2 sensors and phosphor plates. Size 1 fits all size 0 and size 1 sensors and phosphor plates.

Isolite enhances dryfield illuminator technology

Isolite Systems recently introduced an advanced LED Smart Stick for its Isolite dryfield illuminator. The isolation tool combines the functions of light, suction, and retraction into a single device. The LED Smart Stick hosts the system’s light source, cooling technology, and illumination settings. Isolite Systems also made improvements to the polycarbonate lens and the self-regulating cooling technology. A single button controls five light-intensity settings.


Discus composite syringe features rectangular design

Discus Dental recently announced the release of Nuance, a nano-hybrid, universal composite. Nuance combines proprietary filler particles that mimic the optical properties of tooth structure. The delivery system features a rectangular syringe for a better grip when extruding material. The Nuance syringe comes with 4g of material, but with every half turn (identified with a click), it delivers a “unit dose” of ~.1g of material, making communication between dentist and assistant easier and creating less waste.


PracticeWorks Kodak signs distribution agreement with Darby Dental

PracticeWorks Systems, LLC, which produces the Kodak Digital Imaging and Kodak Practice Management Systems, recently signed a multi-year agreement with Darby Dental Supply. The agreement appoints Darby as an authorized seller of Kodak Digital Imaging Systems products, including the Kodak 1500 Intraoral Camera, the Kodak RVG 6100 Digital Imaging Sensors, and the Kodak 2200 Intraoral X-Ray System. In addition, Darby Dental Supply added a selection of KaVo handpieces and small equipment, including the DIAGNOdent caries detection aid.


Gendex introduces GXS-700 intraoral sensors

The GXS-700 intraoral sensors feature a CMOS sensor technology that delivers over 20 visible line pairs per mm, and its small 19.5μm pixel size highlights the smallest details and emphasizes distinctions in density. The Gendex GXS-700 system is available in two ergonomically designed sizes suited for both children and adults. Rounded corners and smooth edge finishes comfortably fit the anatomical shape of the mouth.


Ketac features Quick Mix Capsule delivery system

3M ESPE recently announced the debut of its Ketac Nano Light-Curing Glass Ionomer Restorative with its Quick Mix Capsule delivery system. The delivery system requires only three steps to prepare the material for delivery and without the need for a triturator. The product’s bonded nanofillers and nanocluster fillers, along with fluoraluminosilicate glass, still provide the glass ionomer benefits such as fluoride release.
