Laid-back again and enjoying it

Dear RDH:

This is in reference to Heidi Emmerling`s article in the July 97 RDH. I have never read an article that I have agreed with more. My cap is off to Heidi.

I have been a practicing RDH for 38 years. I just recently left a practice that had two consultants come in. The one did practically everything that was mentioned in the article. It did improve business, but it also created unneeded stress on the entire staff. I was out of touch with her entire scheme of things she wanted done.

I don`t know how I ever managed working in a "laid-back" atmosphere for 30 years before our original dentist retired. The next seven years was complete upheaval when a young, recently graduated dentist took over the practice.

Now, I`m working in another "laid-back" office and I am enjoying working again.

So dear Heidi, thank you so much for the article. It is a real pleasure knowing somebody else feels the same way I do?
