Name on the door

Your previous article encouraging doctors to display their hygienists` name along with their own (July 1998) was just the boost our office needed! I highlighted some of the article and left it on Dr. Meltzer`s desk. (I drew a box at the top of it for him to initial after he read it, just like he does when he wants us to read something he finds important.) He thought the idea was great!

Dear RDH:

Your previous article encouraging doctors to display their hygienists` name along with their own (July 1998) was just the boost our office needed! I highlighted some of the article and left it on Dr. Meltzer`s desk. (I drew a box at the top of it for him to initial after he read it, just like he does when he wants us to read something he finds important.) He thought the idea was great!

My name has been on the door for six months now, and I am pleasantly surprised at the number of patients who mention it and the questions it stimulates. It is a great opportunity to enlighten patients about the education required to become a hygienist. I am amazed at how many people thought it was something that doesn`t require a degree or a license. I have been practicing with Dr. Meltzer for six years, and we make a great team. And now it`s "official!"
