They were dancing in Chicago. Although the food was good and the company of fellow hygienists pleasant, the dancing above was actually a flash mob initiated by RDH columnist Lory Laughter (front, in jeans). RDH Under One Roof on July 28-30 generated lots of good memories at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Chicago.

The conference was led by a keynote presentation by Janice Hurley-Trailor (upper left), who showed off her image makeover of Pam Myers, the Huntsville, Texas, dental hygienist who was the 2010 Philips Sonicare/RDH Mentor of the Year. Gail Stoops, the senior manager of professional relations for Philips Sonicare (center left), delivered an inspirational speech about the dental hygiene profession.
As we’ve mentioned, the food was tasty (lower left) and Sunstar even brought in a jazz band for its annual reception (center adjacent page).
More than 1,800 attended “UOR,” which also featured more than 100 booths in its exhibit hall. Although the atmosphere was fun and relaxed (catch the group mugging for the camera at a photo booth during the Young Dental reception that promoted breast cancer awareness, lower right), continuing education remains the most important feature; 57 seminars were delivered during the three-day conference, including one presented by Ann Spolarich (upper right).
