As a student: She is a 1975 graduate from the University of Pittsburgh. "I entered the field of dental hygiene after spending years watching my grandfather battle oral cancer. It was his determination and inspiration to fight this difficult form of cancer that motivated me to pursue a dental hygiene career path. Educating patients on any oral condition was something instilled early on in my career."
On a daily basis:For the last 11 years, Doreen has worked for Dentsply Professional, serving as a clinical educator for the midwestern states. "My current path as a corporate dental hygienist has afforded me the opportunity to interact with both clinicians and patients. Dentistry has many avenues for success, and I am blessed with having the opportunity to experience so many of them."
About me: Doreen and her husband, Jeff, have five grown children-Elizabeth, Jordon, Alex, Britney, and Ian. They have three grandchildren. In their spare time, Jeff and Doreen practice for ballroom dance competitions. "Our dancing has allowed us to meet many friends from other states and share the passion for this sport. It is great exercise and keeps us grounded with ever-changing goals. We have a goal of dancing in as many states as possible."
